The 2014 Midwest Carbon Sequestration Science Conference will take place in Champaign, Illinois on November 5-6, 2014 at the I Hotel and Conference Center. The conference will showcase current research by project partners. In addition to a field trip to visit the injection site the conference will also feature a full day of presentations on the IBDP
1-million tonne saline reservoir injection demonstration, including permitting, groundwater, geophysics, reservoir constraints and micro-seismic discussions. The meeting will wrap up with an in-depth discussion to set the stage for future research.

Travel to Champaign

There are several ways to reach Champaign, Illinois (CMI). The most convenient and one that offers the most options would be to fly into Chicago. There are several American Airlines flights from Chicago to Champaign each day; the Amtrak Train Service has two trains daily to Champaign; and it is also possible to rent a car and drive from Chicago to Champaign. Champaign is a three hour drive south of O'Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago. There is also one direct flight per day each direction from the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport to Champaign. Other major airports in the area include Indianapolis (IND) two hours from Champaign and St. Louis (STL) three hours from Champaign and a regional airport in Bloomington, Illinois (BMI) which is about a one hour drive to Champaign.
